Come on out to Lulu’s Farm in Brighton Colorado and rub elbows with some of the elite in the Colorado competition circuit for barbecue and steak grilling. Two days and tons of fun!
In the Lulu’s Farm tradition, we’re mixing it up a bit and also partnering with the Steak Cookoff Association (SCA) to bring the fastest growing cooking organization to Colorado! We are extremely proud and honored to host Colorado’s first official SCA Certified Judge’s Class Friday afternoon (must be a member of SCA to participate), and also Colorado’s first officially sanctioned SCA Steak Competition Friday evening following all of the rules and guidelines of the Steak Cookoff Association! Register for SCA Membership and the SCA Judge’s Class.
Friday evening (April 27), enjoy delicious food samplings, a great selection of libations in our hospitality tent, a variety of delicious food vendors (BBQ and others too), the SCA sanctioned Steak Cook-off and “Create Your Own Cocktail” competition, along with the awesome live blues/rock stylin’s of the Michael Hornbuckle band. Steak competitors are vying for a $2,000 purse, and cocktail competitors are mixing it up for a winner takes all purse based on the number of contestants. You do not have to be an SCA member to enter the steak or cocktail competitions! See our competitions page for additional info.
Saturday afternoon (April 28) savor the mouthwatering aroma of serious handcrafted BBQ from original recipes showcased in four categories: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork Butts, and Beef Brisket. 36 expert level teams from all over Colorado are competing for a $10,000 purse in cash and prizes. Lulu’s Brew & Que is a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned state competition, following all of the rules and guidelines of the prestigious KCBS organization, and our judges are all certified by KCBS. Come on down and enjoy delicious food samplings, a great selection of libations in our hospitality tent, a variety of delicious food vendors (BBQ and others too), the pop/country sounds of Premium Diesel, vendor booths, a kid’s fun zone, and the Kids’ Que competition (see our competitions page for Kids’ Que info).
